PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect diaper wetting without attaching a device to a diaper. SOLUTION: A resonance circuit 1 for detection is arranged inside a chair 25 correspondingly to a detection location at which the diaper is located when a diaper-wearing person is seated on the insulating sheet 27 of the chair 25. A coil 9 is arranged at a predetermined interval opposite to the resonance circuit 1 for detection. As the resonance frequency of the resonance circuit 1 for detection is different due to the difference of moisture contents in the ambient environment of the resonance circuit 1 for detection when the diaper located at the detection location is wet and not wet, electromagnetic waves for detection in the vicinity of the resonance frequency of the resonance circuit 1 for detection are transmitted from the coil 9 by a detector 3 to detect diaper wetting by whether electromagnetic coupling occurs between the resonance circuit 1 for detection and the coil 9 or not.
