PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly dispose of soot in exhaust gas to suppress emission into the air. SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device has a soot collection means 41 collecting the soot in the exhaust gas, disposed in an exhaust passage 20 of an engine; and a fuel injection control means 37 controlling an injection mode of fuel such that the fuel of an amount corresponding to an operation state of the engine is divide and injected near the top dead center in a compression stroke. The exhaust emission control device controls the injection mode by a fuel injection control means 37 such that a temperature of the soot collection means 41 exceeds a prescribed temperature, to increase an exhaust gas temperature.
