PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throttle body capable of decreasing the number of part items and reducing the cost. SOLUTION: The throttle body comprises the body proper 10 and a valve element 20, wherein the body proper 10 is furnished with a suction passage 12 through which the suction air to the engine flows, and the valve element 20 is arranged slidable about the direction to open and close the suction passage 12. The body proper 10 and valve element 20 are molded from resin and furnished with seal surfaces 15a and 22b contacting slidably with each other in the downstream of the valve element 20. The suction air flowing through the suction passage 12 presses the valve element 20 in such a direction that the seal surfaces 15a and 22b contact with each other.
