PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the tension member of a steel pipe concrete composite pier capable of resisting external force such as wind load early after installation and contriving cost reduction. SOLUTION: On the tension member of the steel pipe concrete composite pier wherein the end of a small diameter steel pipe 3 is inserted in the end of a large diameter steel pipe 5, both the ends are overlapped and an adhesive is injected in the gap of the overlapped part to join both, pressure support members 5a, 3a are provided on the inner peripheral face of the large diameter steel pipe 5 and the outer peripheral face of the small diameter steel pipe 3 being the overlapped parts respectively, and high-early-strength high strength cement mortar 7 is used as the adhesive.
