PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorbing and reinforcing structure for an acoustic panel capable of minimizing the noise produced from an engine nacelle of a jet airplane. SOLUTION: In this sound absorbing and reinforcing structure for the acoustic panel of the engine nacelle 20 particularly designed to store a jet engine for the jet airplane, each acoustic panel has an inner layer 32 having holes and made of a composite material, an outer layer 34 not having holes and made of a composite material, and an intermediate layer 36 having a honeycomb structure and placed between the inner and outer layers. These three layers are connected to a bat strap 35 by a series of connection members 38 at vertical connecting elements 40 of the structure to ensure the continuity of the flow of fan, a part 36A of the acoustic layer with the honeycomb structure is held at a predetermined position, and contributes on the reinforcement of the connecting elements 40 and the whole structure.
