PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing method for a steel structural body based on a reinforced fiber-containing material, capable of preventing the reinforced fiber-containing material from peeling and making he best use of strength of the reinforced fiber-containing material for easily and sufficiently reinforcing a steel structural body. SOLUTION: In this steel structural body reinforcing method, the reinforced fiber-containing material is arranged on the surface of the steel structural body via a cushioning material exhibiting as tensile elongation of 10-200% by a maximum load at 23 deg.C and a tensile strength of 0.1-50 N/mm2 at 23 deg.C. The reinforced fiber-containing material used for this method is characterized by a sheet in which multiple reinforced fiber threads are arranged in parallel.
