WHEEL DRIVE INCLUDING INTEGRATED DYNAMIC SERVICE BRAKING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a general type wheel drive to allow an easy access for maintenance of a important component of a brake and a gear mechanism and to minimize danger of heat generation of a wheel drive system during operation. SOLUTION: A wheel drive system especially for a mobile machine includes a loading wheel shaft 2 rotatably fixed and mounted on a vehicle frame 1. A ring gear 4 is rotatably connected to the loading wheel shaft 2 through a roller bearing arrangement 3a, 3b and is driven by a planetary gear mechanism 34. An integrated dynamic service brake 24 is provided between the ring gear 4 and the loading wheel shaft. The service brake 24 is arranged in the ring gear 4 on an end part at right behind a detachable gear mechanism cover 11 and on an outer radius of a hollow tube shaped brake holding body 10 forming an end part of the loading wheel shaft. The planetary gear mechanism 34 is arranged in the ring gear 4 at a behind of the service brake 24.
