PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open-close device for a sliding door, in which a structure is simplified, the cost of which can be reduced and in which energy efficiency can be improved. SOLUTION: The open-close device for the sliding door has a wire 6, which is disposed endlessly and to which the sliding door is connected, a winding section 11, on which the wire 6 is wound, a planet gear mechanism 21, which is composed of a sun gear 23, a planet gear 24, a planet carrier 25 supporting the planet gear 24 and a ring gear 26 and in which the sun gear 23 is connected to a motor 31 capable of being rotated forward and reversely and the planet carrier 25 is connected to the winding section 11, and a band brake 22 being contacted or separated with or from the ring gear 26 for the planet gear mechanism 21 and braking the ring gear 26. |
