PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a minute runout as much as possible in a rolling bearing in which an outer ring and an inner ring are made of metal, a rolling element is made of ceramic material, and which is used by imparting a pre-load thereto. SOLUTION: The rolling element 13 is composed of a ceramic sintered body having Young's modulus of 250 GPa or more and coefficient of linear expansion of which mean value between 0 deg.C and 800 deg.C is 5.0×10-6/K or higher.
