PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for calibrating the degree of molecular orientation capable of accurately and easily calibrating the degree of molecular orientation. SOLUTION: A standard sample 15 obtained by overlaying a plurality of thermoplastic liquid crystal polymer films one on top of another is used. As the thermoplastic liquid crystal polymer films have a high degree of orientation, it is possible to obtain the standard sample 15 of the wide range of the degree of molecular orientation at a low cost and to accurately and easily calibrate the degree of molecular orientation.
