PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure large expansion of a specimen by an extension sensor of a small external shape and to obtain data with satisfactory linearity. SOLUTION: One end of an upper arm 1 is connected rotatably to that of a lower arm 2 by a rotation support part 3. A plate spring 6 with one end fixed to the upper arm 1 is extended toward a lower arm 2, a cam 9 is mounted to the lower arm 2, and a pressing surface 10 is arranged in such a way, so as to be in contact with the contact point 7 of the plate spring 6. A distortion gauge 8 is pasted to the vicinity of the center of the plate spring 6 to form a sensitive part as the extension sensor. Since the plate spring 6 is pressed and deformed by the cam 9, when the specimen S is extended, it is possible to reduce the amount of deformation of the plate spring 6 with respect to the amount of opening of the upper and lower arms by providing the shape of the pressing surface 10 of the cam 9 with an appropriately designed curved surface. Therefore, it is possible to measure large extension and provide a relation of satisfactory linearity.
