METHOD OF DETECTING RESIDUAL QUANTITY OF LIQUID FUEL AND METHOD OF CALCULATING POTENTIAL COMBUSTION TIME RESULTING THEREFROM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for detecting the residual quantity of liquid fuel capable of correctly detecting the residual quantity of fuel in spite of its simple structure. SOLUTION: A device equipped with a fuel tank for a liquid fuel comprises an initial value discriminating unit for discriminating the initial value of fuel amount in the fuel tank, an electromagnetic pump for sending out the fuel in the fuel tank, a calculating unit for monitoring the operations of the initial value discriminating unit and the electromagnetic pump, and a storage unit for holding values of divided contents of the fuel tank. The method of detecting the residual quantity of liquid fuel comprises the steps of calculating the consumption times of divided contents calculated by the calculating unit, and calculating an expected remaining potential combustion time by comparing the calculated result of average value of past consumption times with the present fuel consumption.
