PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relief valve fundamentally preventing occurrence of abnormal sounds even in the event of fluctuation in relief pressure such as pulsation by controlling or correcting resonance in a valve system. SOLUTION: A relief valve is provided with a valve element 25 which can freely open and close a inlet passage 24, a relief spring 26 pressing and energizing on the side where the valve element 25 of the inlet passage is closed, and an outlet passage 27 letting a fluid supplied from the inlet passage 24 escape to valve outside by opening and moving of the valve element 25 against energization force of the relief valve 26. A variable throttle mechanism B is provided which reduces the opening area to an outlet passage 27 in moving route 28 of the fluid supplied from the inlet passage 24 as the opening moving amount of the valve element is increased.
