PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear compressor to develop a mechanism suppressing the vibration of the compressor, reduce in size and weight of the compressor itself in the single cylinder linear compressor. SOLUTION: In a means wherein a dynamic damper 7 is connected to the single cylinder compressor, the damper and a compressor movable part almost coincide with each other in their displacement or amplitude to be adjusted to be mutually reverse phases. Positional signals of the compressor removable part and the dynamic damper are detected with a photo sensor 8 and a phase difference and an offset are correlated. When the phase difference in the displacement of the compressor removable part and the dynamic damper are generated, vibration damping is as effective as an opposed double cylinder, and a reduction in the size and the weight is accomplished because of providing a control mechanism wherein the phase difference is correlated by changing a driving frequency of the compressor according to a shear and a control correlating the positional shear when the offset occurs.
