PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the collar fabric of a shirt, capable of easily and securely making a fold and being produced in a highly efficient knitting process, and also to provide a knit shirt capable of securely holding a necktie inside a collar part and letting no collar part get into a jacket when wearing the jacket. SOLUTION: This collar fabric is so constituted that the back knitted stitches 5 of pleat lines 13 of the collar fabric are knitted with a polyester yarn 2 for a pleat line, finer than a cotton yarn 7; whereby, a folded collar part 11 is easily folded toward the reverse side, and as the knit construction of the pleat line 13 is similar to that each of the folded collar part 11 and the collar band 12, the collar fabric can be produced in a highly efficient knitting process.
