PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mud removal device for a vehicle provided with a reverse rotation prevention mechanism capable of surely stopping rotation of a roller and having a high durability performance. SOLUTION: A reverse rotation prevention mechanism 4 of a mud removal device 10 for a vehicle is comprised of at least a ratchet wheel 14 attached on a rotation shaft 51a of a roller 51 of a rear wheel mud removal element in such a manner of rotating with the same as one body, and a pawl 24 pivotally attached on a frame main body 1 and engaging with the ratchet wheel 14 when the ratchet wheel rotates in a reverse direction and is built in a casing 8 provided with an oil pan part 81 filled with lubricating oil O to a height for at least a part of the ratchet wheel to dip into the lubricating oil O.
