PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition suitable for a cushion rubber for joining a reclaimed tread rubber and a reclaimed tire casing together required for the manufacture of a retreaded tire for TBR (a radial tire for trucks and buses) and the like, and to provide a pneumatic tire obtained using the rubber composition. SOLUTION: The rubber composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a rubber component and, incorporated therewith, 0.1-1.0 pt.wt. of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of thiuram compounds and dithiocarbamate compounds together with 0.5-2.0 pts.wt. of sodium 1,6-hexamethylene-dithiosulfate dihydrate.
