PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peroxide crosslinkable rubber composition which is preferably used for a battery, an electrolytic condenser and a molding material of a plate for sealing for an electrical double layer condenser or the like, which is improved in gas barrier properties without damage on original and preferable properties of a divinylbenzene copolymerization butyl rubber, particularly elastic properties such as compressive permanent set properties. SOLUTION: The peroxide crosslinkable rubber composition comprises adding about 20-100 pts.wt. of a flat structure filler to 100 pts.wt. of the divinylbenzene copolymerization butyl rubber.
