PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nano-composite containing low crystallinity polyethylene oxide even in case that the content of polyethylene oxide exceeds 50 wt.%. SOLUTION: The method of producing a polymer composite comprises the steps of mixing smectite clay and polyvinylpyrrolidone to form a first dispersion of an intercalated clay, mixing the dispersion with polyethylene oxide to form a second dispersion, soaking the second dispersion into a ketone to coagulate a polymer composite comprising polyethylene oxide and the intercalated clay, and recollecting the coagulated material.
