PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single crystal manufacturing apparatus which is capable of continuously and smoothly supplying raw material powder of always the same weight while growing a single crystal and is accordingly capable of manufacturing the large-sized single crystal having a homogenous composition and a desired diameter and a method of manufacturing the single crystal using the same. SOLUTION: A respective amount of the raw material powder is temporarily transferred to a raw material powder supplying tray member form a raw material storage section in a position apart from a crucible for manufacturing the single crystal and the raw material powder supplying tray member is moved to a dissolving vessel and is tilted and rotated, by which the raw material powder transferred to the raw material powder supplying tray member is supplied to the dissolving vessel.
