Activating polymer surfaces that contain mold release useful in preparing composite components for vehicles, by irradiation with ultra-violet light

Method for activating surfaces of a polymer (A) that contains at least one internal mold release agent (I) by irradiating with ultra-violet (UV) light from a spontaneously emitting source. Independent claims are also included for: (a) method for preparing a composite component (CC) from (A) and a reactive plastic (B); (b) equipment for preparing CC; (c) (A) that contains (I) and has a surface activated by the new method; and (d) CC prepared by method (a).
