A multi-functional device comprises a multiple component housing made up of a classifying head (1) with a classifying wheel (2), a flow chamber (3) and conical discharge (4). Nozzles (5) for introducing pressurized air are arranged in the transition region between the flow chamber and the discharge. Sluices are arranged in the discharge. The flow chamber has a rectangular cross-section and a vertically orientated feeding path is provided on the upper side of the flow chamber next to the classifying head to form a feeding zone in the chamber. The longitudinal axis of the classifying wheel runs parallel to the narrow sides of the flow chamber to form a suction and return zone. Preferred Features: The classifying wheel is rotated in a direction so that the suction direction runs in the opposing direction to the movement of the feed material in the feeding zone.
