The present invention relates to a method for determining organic particles in the air. This determination takes place by means of three steps: mixing the air with steam in order to allow aerosol to grow into droplets, separating generating droplets from the stream and determining the quantity of organic matter in the droplets. A step in which interfering gases are collected can optionally be added. The invention also comprises an installation for determining organic particles in the air.
