PURPOSE: A sense amplifier is provided to increase a voltage difference between a bit line and a bit bar line, reduce a drain-source current of a sense amplifier, and reduce an overall voltage level on the bit line and the bit bar line. CONSTITUTION: The first and second sense amplifiers(1,2) are connected between a bit line and a bit bar line, and sense and amplify data on the bit line or bit bar line in response to a sense amplifier enable signal(SA). A sensing part(10) is controlled by a sensing control signal(WCON), and senses a voltage difference between the bit line and the bit bar line. A control signal generator(20) generates the sensing control signal(WCON) in response to a block select signal(BSEL) from a block decoder, a reference voltage signal(VREF) from a reference voltage generator, and a read enable signal(RCON).
