PURPOSE: An electron gun of a cathode ray tube employing a cold cathode and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to suppress severe aberration due to disagreement between the cold cathode and an electron passage hole by adjusting electron radiating area of the cold cathode. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun of a cathode ray tube employing a cold cathode comprises an electron beam radiating cold cathode part(20) for radiating an electron beam, and an electron beam radiation suppression cold cathode part formed by coating electron beam radiation suppression material over the area except for the electron beam radiating cold cathode part(20). The electron gun is manufactured by packing the electron gun by attaching the cold cathode part(20) to a cold cathode supporter(30), and coating electron beam radiation suppression material over the area except for the electron beam radiating area. When the electron beam radiation suppression material is coated, a mask electrode(50,60) is used to deposit the electron beam radiation suppression material over the area except for the desired electron beam radiating area.
