PURPOSE: A flat CRT is provided to prevent a distortion caused by an unbalance of force by compensating a supporting force from the edge portion of the shadow mask to the center portion. CONSTITUTION: A flat CRT comprises a panel(10), a mask support member(30) mounted inside of the panel, and a shadow mask(40) which is welded to the mask support member and performs a color selection of the electron beam. The flat CRT also includes a fixing unit(80) which press-fits the edge portion of the shadow mask(40) toward the mask support member(30) at the top side of an end cap. The fixing unit(80) includes an attachment part(81) welded at top side of the end cap and an elastic piece(84). The elastic piece(84) is projected to the top side of the attachment part(81). The end part of the elastic piece is bent downwardly and presses the edge portion of the shadow mask.
