The rolling up device (10) includes a casing with a guide slot for the safety belt (11). The lower edge of the guide slot is yielding. This lower edge may be formed from a diverting web (12) which is movably connected to the casing. The diverting web may have one end pivoted to the casing and the other end supported by a spring.
