PURPOSE: A method for setting and changing position of the receiving antenna is provided to change the receiving antenna by comparing SNR(signal to noise ratio). CONSTITUTION: In a method for setting and changing position of the receiving antenna, at step(501), a switch of a receiver is operated by a controller to operate the receiver of a translator for setting position of the receiving antenna. At step(502), SNR is measured. At step(503), the SNR is monitored. At step(504), it is determined whether a set monitor time is expired. At step(505), if the set monitor time is expired, the SNR is outputted as its mean, maximum, or minimum. At step(506), it is determined whether the SNR exceeds a minimal broadcast receiving SNR. At step(507), if the SNR exceeds the minimal broadcast receiving SNR, priority for locating the receiving antenna is considered. At step(508), if the SNR does not exceed the minimal broadcast receiving SNR, the receiving antenna is excluded. At step(510), a threshold for changing the receiving antenna is set. At step(511), it is determined whether the SNR is lower than the set threshold. At step(512), if the SNR is lower than the set threshold, the receiving antenna is changed. At step(513), if the SNR is not lower than the set threshold, the receiving antenna is continuously operated.
