Disclosed is a method for the production of delustering additives for incorporation into polyester, especially for the production of spinnable fibres, films and bottles, comprising TiO2 pigments which are finely distributed and embedded in polyethylene glycol. According to said method, 30 - 50 wt. % TiO2 (in relation to the aqeuous dispersible charge) is dispersed in an aqueous solution containing 15 25 wt. % polyethylene glycol (in relation to the TiO2 content of the finished product). The dispersion is wet milled to an average particle size (d50) of 0.25 0.45 mu m, the oversize fraction of > 1 mu m is removed from the suspension and the suspension is spray dried using an inert gas having a maximum oxygen content of 10 % at a maximum discharge temperature of 130 DEG C. |
