A formwork system has a number of these formwork elements and a supporting frame (40), to which the formwork elements are displaceably fastened. A tunneling machine has a tool (12, 70), which excavates a slot (15), said slot encircling the tunnel periphery, on the working face (14) in the ground (17), and which is displaceably fastened to a supporting frame (71) and automatically guided by a control (72) along the desired course.
