<p>The present invention provides a system for providing traffic information on the Internet, in which when a driver, who wants to know the traffic conditions of a road, selects a corresponding area, the traffic conditions of the road are transmitted to the driver's terminal in the form of original data, thereby notifying the driver of congested and non congested areas rapidly and correctly. The system for providing traffic information on the Internet includes uer terminals for requesting and receiving traffic information of a certain area indicated on a Web page or indexed according to areas; a photographing device comprised of a camera for photographing traffic conditions of the certain area, an Analog/Digital (A/D) converter for converting a photographed image to digital data, and a control unit for controlling digital data converted in the A/D converter to be transmitted through a communication unit; and a server for storing digital data transmitted form the photographing device in a database, indicating the certain area on the Web page and indexing the certain area according to areas, and transitting digital data stored in the database to the user terminals in response to the requests of the user terminals.</p> |
