The drive train has an automated frictional coupling or clutch between a drive motor and a gearbox, whereby a frictional moment transferred from the drive motor to the gearbox is controled in a pulsed manner. A pulse frequency is superimposed when engaging and when disengaging the frictional coupling. The amplitude of the pulse frequency is reduced as the engagement progresses.
