PURPOSE: A method for controlling mobile communication terminals remotely is provided to minimize the burden of users related to residual power of the terminals and discretionary use by others by executing a lost mode and enable prompt restoration of the terminals. CONSTITUTION: A mobile communication subscriber registers at a lost service provided by a mobile communication service company(ST11). If the subscriber recognizes the lost of a mobile communication terminal, the subscriber calls a telephone number of the lost terminal and connects to the lost service by using the other terminal or a public telephone(ST12¯ST13). It is confirmed whether the user is the registered subscriber(ST14). The confirmed subscriber selects a specific item in the lost service(ST15). If the subscriber selects the execution of a lost mode, the lost mode is executed(ST16¯ST17). According to the lost mode, transmission function of the terminal is interrupted(ST18). If the user restores the lost terminal or gives up restoration(ST20), the subscriber reconnects to the lost service, and receives authentication, and releases the executing lost mode(ST13¯ST16). The mobile communication service company provides normal telephone service to the terminal(ST19). |
