<p>A solid state traffic light apparatus provided with an optical feedback sensor ensuring a constant light intensity by detecting back-scattered light from a diffuser centered above an LED array. Control logic individually drives the LEDs, the drive characteristics being changed over time by the optical feedback to ensure a uniform beam intensity is generated at a intensity meeting DOT standards, across the life of the device, and as a function of ambient light conditions.</p> |
