PURPOSE: A refrigerant overheat protection of evaporator for automobile is provided to prevent overheat of refrigerant by passing part of air flowing into an evaporator of high temperature without passing through an evaporator core to reduce contact of refrigerant flowing in a refrigerant pipe in the evaporator core with outside air with high temperature. CONSTITUTION: A direct path(26) is formed between an evaporator case(12) and an evaporator core(10). A door(16) is installed on an inlet of the direct path to rotate to open and close by a driving device driven by a signal of an ECU(24). A temperature sensor(22) connected with the ECU is installed on an outlet of a refrigerant pipe of the evaporator core. When the temperature of refrigerant is over 5deg.C, the door is opened to make part of outside air of high temperature passes through the direct path.
