The present invention provides an organic electroluminescent device having a high luminous efficiency and a long life, which comprises a dithiafulvene derivative represented by Formula (1): wherein R1 and R2 represent an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; R3 to R6 represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkylthio group, an arylthio group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; and when R3 to R6 are an aryl group or a heterocyclic group adjacent to each other, they may be condensed to each other.
