The guide rods (12) between the vehicle body and the rigid axle (2,3) are longitudinally elastic and the rigid axles (2,3) are hinged to the leaf spring (6) via rocker bearings (10) whose axis in each case lies horizontally across the line of travel. The springs (6) lie above the wheel axes (R) and the guide rods (12) below this (R). The lengthways spring path of the rods (12) is several times greater than the bearings resilience (10). The rods form an extensible and retractable telescoping system operating in the line of travel and composed of piston and cylinder pairs in which the pistons and rigid axles are coupled to body or axle or vice versa. The cylinders are held at rest in their cylinders to be extended in or against the line of travel.
