PURPOSE: A process of preparing a functional fiber by spraying mineral water containing germanium, a concentrate thereof or a mixture with resin on a fiber is provided. The obtained fiber has an antimicrobial property and a deodorizing effect and radiates far-infrared rays. CONSTITUTION: Mineral water containing germanium is directly sprayed on a fiber. Or the mineral water is concentrated to give evaporation residues, which are ground and mixed with synthetic resin, an emulsifying agent or a dye and then sprayed on the fiber.
