PURPOSE: A battery pack interface circuit and a method for a notebook personal computer are provided to interrupt the inflow of the battery voltage of high voltage to a system board by using a regulator of the battery pack without using a regulator of the system board. CONSTITUTION: The battery pack(100) comprises a switching part outputting the battery power according to the configuration of battery cell(100) to a system board(200) and charging the battery sell by receiving the power of AC adaptor, a control part(103) catching the state of battery cell and transmitting the state information to the system board, and a regulator rectifying the battery pack power, supplying the rectified power to the control part as an operation power and to the system board. The system board comprises a power switching part(201) switching the battery power and the power of the AC adaptor, a power supply part(202) converting and supplying the power being transmitted from the power switching part to notebook PC, a power and charging/discharging control part(203) generating a switching signal and a power on/off signal according to the present/absent of power outputted from the battery pack and AC adaptor, and the connection state of the battery and the state of battery.
