The method involves using a spray and/or distribution device mounted on a vehicle carrying a tank (3) and consisting of a frame with pivotal arms (5) carrying nozzles and/or discharge hoses (7) or pipes, whereby the arms are divided in two by joints and have two fixed positions, both perpendicular to the direction of travel. The ground is traversed twice on the same track, once with the arms extended and once with them parallel.
