PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for detecting a nuclear quadruple resonance material are provided to perform a detection process in a field by maximizing a detection effect to an outside of a coil. CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor(201) is used for controlling a user interface, a detection coil, a signal generator, and a signal modulator. A signal generator(202) is used for generating and controlling a radio frequency signal of a particular frequency. A signal modulation portion(203) is used for modulating the radio frequency signal to a pulse type signal. A preprocess portion(204) is formed with an amplifier, a matching portion, and a reception refusal portion. A detection portion(205) receives a detection signal from the preprocess portion(204) and transfers it to a detection coil. A response signal processing portion(206) is used for detecting and amplifying only a response signal.
