PURPOSE: An apparatus for displaying a time for communication control and a method for driving the same are provided to display the standard time without an external clock by installing a communication reception module at a time display device. CONSTITUTION: A communication service connection portion(50) provides communication data for standard time through a communication network. A communication reception module(55) is connected with the communication service connection portion(50) in order to receive the communication data. A micro computer(60) performs a clock display control function by generating and outputting time display data and division signal line data. A drive power source portion(65) provides a drive power to the micro computer(60). A time display portion(66) displays the standard time according to a control operation of the micro computer(60). A division time line output portion(67) outputs division signal line data to the time display portion(66) according to the control operation of the micro computer(60).
