The invention concerns a method for making aluminium alloy strips with a thickness not more than 12 mu m, comprising: preparing an alloy composition (wt. %): Si: 0.15 0.40; Fe: 1.10 1.70; Mg: < 0.02; Mn: 0.30 0.50; other elements < 0.05 each and < 0.15 in total, the rest being aluminium; continuously casting between rolls a strip of said alloy with thickness ranging between 2 and 10 mm; homogenizing said strip at a temperature ranging between 450 and 620 DEG C for a duration ranging between 8 and 40 hours; cold rolling said strip; intermediate annealing of the cold-rolled strip at a temperature ranging between 200 and 400 DEG C, and for a duration ranging between 8 and 15 hours; cold rolling the annealed strip until the final thickness is not more than 12 mu m; final annealing of the strip at a temperature ranging between 200 and 300 DEG C, for a duration of at least 50 hours. The invention is useful for making strips designed for aseptic brick packages for food products. |
