PURPOSE: Provided is a composition for blocking food odor consisting of the edible polymer and a solvent to disperse, emulsify or dissolve the above polymer. The above composition is coated on the food to block the odor as well as outside air to prevent the oxidation, disintegration and evaporation of moisture enabling long storage of the food. When the composition is mixed with powder foods, which are hard to eat because of the odor, and is taken without much difficulty. CONSTITUTION: The composition comprises: edible polymers and solvent, one or more than one polymer selected from methylcellulose(MC), hydroxyethylcellulose, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose(HPMC), carboxymethylcellulose(CMC), povidone(PVP), polyethylene glycol(PEG), cellulose acetophthalate(CAP), polyvinyl acetophthalate(PVAP) and MPM; disintegrating agents such as calcium salt of CMC, MC and crystalline cellulose being added additionally. The compositions are usually in the form of solution, suspension, emulsion, and aerosol and they are coated or mixed with the powder food to make granules and molded as tablets.
