Production of overlapping joints on aluminum fine sheets comprises heating solder plated sheets so that the base material temperature remains below the solidus temperature, the solder layer achieves its liquidus temperature, and the solidus temperature is safely exceeded; and maintaining such a force until the material is cooled to below the solidus temperature of the solder to safely form a solid joint. An Independent claim is also included for a process for point or roll seam welding aluminum fine sheets. Preferred Features: Point- and line-like overlapping joints are produced using resistance welding machines. One-sided sheets are used whose solder platings are in contact in the overlapping surface.
