The flange plate includes a surrounding annular wall (8). Silicone rubber ring seal (10 ) fastens to the flange plate with clearance from (8). When relaxed, this projects out beyond the plane of (8). Between (10) and (8), a reception chamber faces (8). This is provided for a viscous, hardening sealant. Some of this is forced out by (10) as excess, when pressure is applied to the flange plate. The flange plate (2) includes a surrounding annular wall (8). A silicone rubber ring seal (10) is fastened to the flange plate with clearance from the annular wall. In the relaxed state, this projects out beyond the plane of the outer, annular flange wall (8). Between (10) and (8), a reception chamber (13) faces (8). This is provided for a viscous, hardening sealant mass, preferably silicone rubber. Some of this is forced out by (10) as excess, when pressure is applied to the flange plate, against the e.g. masonry wall (3). An Independent claim is included for the corresponding method of making a sealed wall penetration for cables and pipes.
