PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for a D-channel packet service of an integrated services digital network are provided to remove a switch processing work to packet data in software by processing packet data through a DP-BUS and processing subscriber data through a sub highway, thereby dispersing load during data processing, and increase subscriber capacity by using one more subscriber channel. CONSTITUTION: A subscriber requests a D-channel packet service(S10). A D-channel matching part separates D-channel packet data received from the subscriber(S11). The D-channel matching transmits D-channel packet data through a DP-BUS(S12) to a packet network matching part. The packet network matching part receives D-channel packet data from the D-channel matching part through the DP-BUS and transmits D-channel packet data to a packet network(S13-S14).
