ROAMING SERVICE SYSTEM FOR GSM SERVICE SUBSCRIBERS IN CDMA SERVICE AREA AND LOCATION REGISTRATION METHOD, RECEIPT/SENDING METHOD, AND SHORT MESSAGE RECEIPT/SENDING METHOD

PURPOSE: A roaming service system for GSM service subscribers in a CDMA service area and a location registration method, a receipt/sending method, and a short message receipt/sending method are provided to enable GSM service subscribers to use own SIM card and number within the CDMA service area and enable a roaming service by the GSM SIM card by minimizing network change. CONSTITUTION: A CDMA HLR(Home Location Register)(120) stores location information of subscribers and service information. A CDMA MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(130) is connected to the CDMA HLR(120) for taking charge of call connection function. A CDMA terminal(150) is wirelessly connected to the CDMA MSC(130) and is capable of mounting a SIM card(Subscriber Identity Module). A GSM(Global system for Mobile communications) HLR(220) stores location information of subscribers and service information. A GSM MSC(230) is connected to the GSM HLR(220) for taking charge of call connection function. An AUC(Authentication Center)(260) takes charge of authenticating the terminal. A GSM terminal(250) is wirelessly connected to the GSM MSC(230). An IRGS(International Roaming Gateway System)(300) is connected between a CDMA system(100) and a GSM system(200) for executing signal conversion to exchange signals between the systems(100,200). If a GSM service subscriber moves to an area where a CDMA service is available and mounts own SIM card at the CDMA terminal, specific data required for authenticating GSM by the CDMA system(100) is transmitted by using a CDMA message.
