PURPOSE: A multiple access system and method for RF cards are provided to selectively authenticate usage for various kinds of RF cards through a single terminal and to rapidly process the amount of settlement according to the use of those RF cards. CONSTITUTION: An RF card terminal is comprised of an antenna(14), an RF modulation/demodulation module(13), a CPU(10), SAMs(Security Access Modules)(12-1-12-n), and a UART(Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter, 11). The antenna(14) receives serial number information and card information from a plurality of RF cards(15-1-15-n). The RF modulation/demodulation module(13) demodulates RF signals received from the antenna(14) into digital information, and modulates the digital key information of SAMs into RF signals. If RF chip serial number information is transmitted and inputted from an RF card, the CPU(10) loads a key value of SAM1 through the UART(11), attempts access to the memory of the RF card with the key value, reads card number information and balance information stored in the memory domain, and executes a charge collection routine for the amount of settlement dependent on the use of the RF card. In case that it is impossible to access the memory domain of the RF card using the key value of SAM1, the CPU attempts the access of the memory domain using the key values of the next SAMs(12-2-12-n) sequentially. Each SAM(12-1-12-n), having its own intrinsic security access key value, transmits the key value according to the request of the CPU. The UART(11) sequentially connects the SAMs(12-1-12-n) to the CPU(11) in a one-to-one correspondence according to the control of the CPU(11).
