Catalytic dielectric barrier discharge reactor

A method of forming an adhering catalytic layer on an element for a dielectric barrier discharge reactor, wherein the element is a dielectric material or an electrode, the catalytic layer or catalyst carrier layer consisting at least in part of a catalyst selected from the group consisting of zeolites and zeolite-like materials; the method comprising the steps of a) providing a composition containing at least one silicon source and at least one aluminium source; b) disposing the composition on the element; c) heating the element with the composition disposed thereon; d) controlling the disposing and the heating to form the adhering catalytic layer on the element.
